This unique piece is an Italian reproduction chest and had seen better days. It  had a peach tone and needed an update

Process

As this was highly carved we wanted to make those features shine. We cleaned the piece with water and sugar soap and then went straight in painting over the existing painted finish with the colour Paloma Vintro chalk paint using a hash motion to create texture on the flat areas too. The finish was a mix of Cloudburst tinted clear wax with a little dark wax in some areas, but the overall look is of a grey shadow. We went heavier in areas we wanted to stand out more

A unique piece to paint and it is a great feature piece now.
