Hokus Pokus trasnfers work best on smooth surfaces such as our Velvet Luxe hybrid chalk paint. Best practice application over a painted surface is to apply to a completely dry lacquered topcoat surface or one with a built in top coat such as our Artisan Velvet Luxe hybrid chalk paint, not waxed and not directly to actual chalk paint.
