French Provincial Hall table from a re-purposed sewing table
•Posted on December 17 2016
I knew this old sewing table had good bones when I found it, lovely details on the legs and top, just old and tired.
We removed the sewing machine, which was neither pretty or vintage and only added a massive weight to the table.
I've been wanting to try a new vintage paint colour called River rock out for ages and I thought this piece was perfect. It's a soft muddy olive green, very French feeling and it matched in perfectly with the Floral Catalogue transfer. This colour took lots of distressing well; to show the very dark stained wood underneath, for a very shabby look, like it has been around for years, perfect! The little drawer only pulls out enough to hold some keys or similar, but it is a great little size for an entrance way or hall. Now available at our Vintage Shoppe in Tauranga.
Vintage Paint: River rock
Decor Transfer: Floral Catalogue
Top Coat: Clearcoat Lowsheen
